International Business and Trade (AAS)

In Highline’s International Business program, you will receive the training and expertise required to succeed in the international marketplace. Our programs develop international business people with practical skills, a sense of global citizenship and an understanding of cultural diversity. In today’s global economy, international trade is increasingly becoming the engine of growth for economic development around the world, according to the Washington State Office of Community, Trade and Economic Development.

Business (AAS)

Enroll in Highline College’s Business program and you will learn the practical skills and business theory you need to succeed in today’s competitive work environment. With this degree in general business, students are not limited to a singular area of expertise. A general business degree could lead to a career in marketing, management, sales, production, and more.

Business, Emphasis in Human Resources (AAS)

This modified AAS in Business allows students to complete a Certificate in Human Resources while also pursuing their degree. Whether you are new to the field, or want to build additional skills for your current job, this degree offers curricula based on the bodies of knowledge of the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) and the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) – all while building a foundation for working in a business setting.

  • IMPORTANT NOTE: This modified degree is completed in 102 credits, meaning it typically takes one additional quarter to complete than the general AAS in Business. The official details of the degree will be available in catalog soon.

Small Business/Entrepreneurship (AAS)

Enroll in Highline College’s Small Business Entrepreneurship program to turn your dreams of managing or owning a small business into reality.

An entrepreneur organizes, operates, and assumes the risk for a business venture. In this program you will develop the practical skills you need—including management, marketing, retailing and accounting—to effectively plan for and operate your small business.

Professional Sales (AAS)

With Highline’s Professional Sales degree, students will be prepared for careers in retail sales, customer service positions, related merchandising, and professional sales. Professional Sales students complete courses in selling, retail management, mathematics, and computers. The student is provided the knowledge and training necessary to become an efficient salesperson within a business operation.

AA in Business (Transfer) Degree

If you wish to transfer to a four-year institution after completing your two-year AA (Transfer) degree, you are looking to complete an Associate of Business degree.  This degree will provide you with the general education requirements that will prepare you to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a four-year college or university.

In order to get on track, you will need to meet with a business department faculty advisor in order to plan your curriculum based on what four-year institutions require from transfer students.
